Dear Lesley: Forgetting My Supplement

I am a woman currently going through menopause. How can I get the amount of magnesium I need? My doctor told me to take magnesium supplements, but I keep forgetting to take them. Any suggestions?

Dear Lesley: Gummy Mommy

My daughter is a picky eater, so it is hard to get her to eat her fruits and vegetables. She does like taking her gummy vitamins though. I was relieved when I found a way to get her more nutrients. She likes them so much that she really throws a tantrum when she can’t have them.

Dear Lesley: Skin Hair Nails

I have been taking a skin, hair, and nail vitamin for about 4 months now. I haven’t noticed any major difference. Do you think I should continue taking the vitamin to give it more time to see results? Or should I stop taking it because it is not working?

Dear Lesley: There’s No Magic Bullet

I am a very busy person, and my work is important and incredibly demanding. I do not have time for cooking. It is easier for me to purchase food from restaurants. It is convenient and I can afford it.

Supplement Appropriately and Safely

The decision of whether to take dietary supplements varies for numerous reasons. Some individuals decide to take supplements in order to provide additional nutrients aside from what they are getting in their daily meals to meet nutritional recommendations or to remedy nutrient depletions or deficiencies.
