I have been taking a skin, hair, and nail vitamin for about 4 months now. I haven’t noticed any major difference. Do you think I should continue taking the vitamin to give it more time to see results? Or should I stop taking it because it is not working? Also, can I share with you the name of the vitamin so that you can let me know if I need to try a different brand? – JOURNEY TO BEAUTY
Firstly, there’s no need to send me any details on the vitamin you are taking. I am not partnered with any brand or manufacturer yet and cannot recommend one brand over another. If I were to recommend or act as an ambassador for a brand and/or product, I would do so fully supporting their manufacturing practices, integrity of their ingredients, and the overall quality. I am not able to do that for the brand you are using. Regarding the vitamin you are currently taking, have you researched the vitamin and its ingredients and manufacturer?
Secondly, are the results you were expecting in four months realistic? A supplement is meant to aid or support. Rarely will you see immediate and extreme results from supplementation unless there was an existing deficiency or chronic issue in need of treatment. In those cases, supplements can aid in replenishing and improving the deficient state or chronic condition. Did you start using the vitamin because you were informed by your physician of any deficiencies related to your skin, hair, and nails? Please know that balance is important. Getting too much of a nutrient can be just as problematic as getting too little of a nutrient in some instances.
If you have not experienced any negative side effects, you can consider continuing with the vitamin to allow more time for any noticeable differences. You may also want to layer in some nutritional changes such as making sure you are eating the Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) for protein for your demographic, eating foods rich in antioxidants, and hydrating regularly and consistently.
Supplement safely and responsibly. Consult your physician about any supplements you are considering.
