Any other milk/dairy substitute can serve as an alternative. A negative association with almond milk is that its production can be taxing on the environment. However, almond milk isn’t necessarily not great for you. When choosing a brand of almond milk, you would want to consider getting the unsweetened, unflavored version with the least additives.

If you want to try another type of milk, you can consider trying oat milk – unsweetened and unflavored of course. Or you can just use water then add nut butter, whole nuts, or seeds, and honey or dates to your smoothies and shakes instead.
