I have been trying really hard to be more health conscious. I have been following wellness content creators and have found it inspiring. But there is a problem. A kind of big problem at that. I do not like vegetables. I don’t like vegetables, but I do like plant-based products. My least favorite thing to eat is a salad. It tastes like grass, and it is cold. I eat a lot of different kinds of meat with steak and chorizo being my favorites. I also eat rice, pinto beans, and potatoes. Can I be healthy if I do not eat vegetables? – ANTI-VEGGIE, PRO-FLAVOR
You must take extra precautions to attain nutrients your body needs to function properly since you are restricting consumption of vegetables. You will have to eat plenty whole grains, fruit, a variety of beans and legumes, nuts and seeds, and dairy or a dairy alternative with the nutrient content to meet your nutritional needs. You should consider other sources of protein such as fish and shellfish. Also, steep tea to get antioxidants and nutrients. Since you like plant-based products, you are getting some phytonutrients and that’s not bad. Try not to eat overly processed plant-based products often. Plant-based or not, processed is processed.
Don’t give up on vegetables completely. Taste as many as you can until you find some that you like. Consider how the vegetables are cooked. Vegetables do not have to be boiled or stemmed all the time; try roasting, searing, or grilling them. Cook vegetables with the meat you are preparing. Marinate vegetables in spices and/or dressings to give them flavor. Lastly, cook vegetables in broth to add some flavor.
