My child won’t eat anything healthy. I have tried to give him so many things, but he refuses. He always tries to eat my food but refuses to eat his own food. What can I do? – NIA
One of the first things to consider is the child’s age. How old is your son? He may be in a transitional stage. During transitional times between eating stages, there could be a picky eating phase. As his pallet is developing, his preferences may be changing.
You can model healthy eating behavior. You mentioned that he tries to eat your food. Is your food healthy? It would be counterproductive to present your son with healthy foods and attempt to eat foods that are different/not as healthy in front of him. If you are noticing changes in your son’s eating behavior, prepare to be more patient, continue to offer nutritious foods, and eat healthy meals with him. If you are offering your son healthy food but eating different/not as healthy food, prepare to have to make some adjustments and possibly, difficult decisions.
